New Test Method for Determining Resistance of Asphalt Shingles to Hail by Impact with Propelled Ice Balls

1. Scope

This test method provides a procedure for evaluating the ability of prepared assemblies of asphalt roofing shingles to resist impact forces of falling hail. Propelled ice balls are used to simulate falling hailstones.

Rationale
