New Practice for Pilot Compartment View in Precipitation

1. Scope

This Practice provides definitions and guidance for how an applicant can show compliance to the requirements for precipitation effects on Pilot Compartment View. This includes definition of potential environments and considerations for specific types of protections.

Rationale

This practice proposes considerations and methods of compliance for precipitation effects for F3117/F3117M, Pilot Compartment View.
Plexiglass windows inherently provide protection without a coating and are not subject to the requirements of this Practice.
Specific types of protection means have additional considerations related to maintenance and continued operational safety.
The requirements herein are organized such that an Applicant can identify the specific sections that apply to their design implementation. Any other sections can be identified by the Applicant as “Not Applicable”.
