Revision of F2959-22 Standard Practice for Aerial Adventure Courses

Rationale

Patron controlled braking can be inconsistent on application and not a fail safe design. Patrons can be confused or unaware on when or how to apply the braking system. Patrons can become overconfident and apply the brakes too late to be effective. This language provides guidance to the designer/engineer and owner operator that the course braking system must be designed to arrest the patron with or without their participation. The ballot is proposing to add language to the breaking section 11.13.7. The new language will be added below 11.13.7.5.
