New Guide for Field Vibration Monitoring

1. Scope

A best-practices guide for monitoring of construction- or mining-related vibration in the field

Keywords

Vibration; Vibration monitoring

Rationale

Currently, some practitioners use a vibration monitoring standard created 40 years ago by the Bureau of Mines. Technology advances in instruments (MEMS sensors) as well as data acquisition and transmission (wireless cloud data storage for example) justify the effort. Committee D18.23 was polled about creating new standards, and this topic was the winner.

The title and scope are in draft form and are under development within this ASTM Committee.
