Revision of E2813-18 Standard Practice for Building Enclosure Commissioning
Rationale
The intent of this ballot is to update Table A2.1 in Annex A2 to include applicable tests for electronic leak detection and whole building air leakage testing to include ASTM standards that have been developed since the table was published. Electronic leak detection is already included by footnote J, however, the table does not currently reference the applicable ASTM standards ASTM D7877, Standard Guide For Electronic Methods For Detecting And Locating Leaks In Waterproof Membranes and ASTM D8231, Standard Practice For The Use Of A Low Voltage Electronic Scanning System For Detecting And Locating Breaches In Roofing And Waterproofing Membranes. Similarly, building air leakage testing standards ASTM E799 Test Method for Determining Air Leakage Rate by Fan Pressurization and ASTM E1827 Test Methods for Determining Airtightness of Buildings Using an Orifice Blower Door are listed in the table (and annotated with supplemental information by footnote C), and the newer standard, ASTM E3158 Standard Test Method for Measuring the Air Leakage Rate of a Large or Multizone Building is not currently referenced. The ballot adds ASTM D7877, D8231, and E3158 and updates footnotes J and C accordingly to reflect these added tests.
