This specification covers the required release and retention characteristics of ski-binding-boot (S-B-B) systems. This specification is applicable to all recreational snow skiing bindings that have safety release mechanisms. Specifically, this performance standard establishes the minimum performance requirement for release and retention of a ski boot in a ski binding under loading scenarios that relate to ski shop testing and loads that simulate forward and backward twisting falls.

Keywords
