Revision of C1876-24 Standard Test Method for Bulk Electrical Resistivity or Bulk Conductivity of Concrete

Rationale

The conditioning in the current version of C1876 consists of a simulated pore solution saturated with calcium hydroxide. The subcommittee was asked to add an option for conditioning in lime saturated water because it is easier and more practical for technicians, laboratories, and testing agencies. In addition, it is less expensive, and easier to dispose as compared to the simulated pore solution.
Adding the option of conditioning in water saturated with calcium hydroxide requires revision of several sections and the addition of the precision statement for this conditioning.
